WLC Leadership Conference

  • Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans Covington/Mandeville 101 Northpark Boulevard Covington, LA, 70433 United States (map)

The Women’s Leadership Committee and the Michael Danna Leadership Conference Committee are excited to host the inaugural Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation WLC Conference in conjunction with the Michael Danna Leadership Conference open to all volunteer leaders! Join us in Southeast Louisiana for two days of tours, great speakers, and meals to bring together volunteer leaders from across the state of Louisiana.

We will be meeting at the Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans Covington/Mandeville (101 Northpark Blvd, Covington, LA 70433; (985) 871-0244).

On Friday, we will begin with a special session for Parish Presidents, Parish board members, and spouses. We will discuss building and maintaining membership, parish board involvement, and parish board responsibilities. There will also be an update on the legislative session, insurance issues, and state convention.

Following the special session, all attendees will board the bus and travel to Fleur de Lis Tea Co. for a tour and tasting. From the serene settings of this Louisiana tea house, they bring to life a fine quality tea, provide tea products, tours/events, nursery-grade Camellia Sinensis (tea) plants, and a beautiful, rural venue for private events. From there, we will travel to Sinagra Family Dairy, a certified farm to table dairy that provides minimally processed dairy products. The evening will end at Covey Rise Farms for a tour and dinner. Most tour stops have a farm store, so come prepared to stock up!

We will kick Saturday off with breakfast and an ice breaker followed by our keynote speaker. Blayr Barnard of Barnard Beef Cattle Co. will be joining us from Coryell County, Texas to discuss next generation succession planning on the farm.

Rates for this conference are $379 (single occupancy + special session), $279 (double, triple, quadruple occupancy + special session), $229 (single occupancy) and $179 (double, triple, quadruple occupancy). This fee includes lodging, transportation, tours, and meals.

THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, APRIL 11! Registration for this event, and future events, will now be done online.
